Little clothes for little people

Tia has been doing some baby laundry today.  The detergent she bought literally smells like a baby after a bath.  She kept chuckling in the laundry area so I thought I should investigate.  This is what I found...  

We had breakfast this morning with Aunt Reba and Clive Charlie at the wonderful Paul's Pancake Parlor.  There were some great people for Clive to watch while we waited for our breakfast.  We were seated right next to the kitchen so there was a lot going on.  Rebecca certainly has perfected the art of feeding a boy who won't hold still for a second.  Unfortunately I didn't snap a picture... Clive likes Paul's chocolate chip pancakes!

The new stroller is set up and ready to go.  He's gonna have to fight the Cougars off with a stick when he's in this thing!

Hey Aunt Elizabeth, look what UPS brought us!

UPS came knocking last night and to our surprise handed us our new baby stroller and car seat. 

Today has already been a busy day, and we have a lot more to do.  Tia sprung out of bed and went straight to the gym for some cardio.  I reluctantly got dressed and did my P90X / Insanity in the basement.  I'm going to clean out the Forester after I post this.  After that we're going to assemble the stroller and see how the baby seat and stroller fit in the car.  We may even run some errands with the car seat in place for fun!  More pictures soon.

I'm back in the saddle again.



I love my wife!  Look what she bought for me!  The new Senna Wagon is a 2004 Subaru Forester XT.  210 horsepower of turbocharged fury purchased from a man named Bong.  Seriously... 

The engine is identical to the 300 horsepower Subaru WRX STi.  The only difference being the turbo, intercooler, and ecu....not that I've given this any thought or shopped any of these items.  The previous owner installed a coilover suspension, hence the speed bump clipping ride height you see.  I'll be raising it back up a few inches before we try to tow anything with it, but in the mean time it's been fun.  It's like driving a surly toaster!  The photo was taken after its first bath, moments after purchase.

This car has so many options I've never had in a daily driver that it's difficult to decide which is most exciting.  Push button defrosted front and rear wipers?  Heated seats?  Keyless entry?  Hard to decide but I'll give it some heavy thought while the turbo and rear limited slip differential are helping me slide sideways around in the snow... 

Parts recovery...

When you're married to me, you get to learn how to do all kinds of interesting things!  Tia and I went out to my workplace to remove any aftermarket parts that may still be useable from the Senna Wagon.  So, with me half hanging out of the crushed car trying to steer it, Tia pushed the 4WD button and towed us into the shop.  She snapped this shot of me lifting up the car for surgery.  Who needs a floor jack anyway when you have one of these?  :-)  Within twenty minutes the place looked like a chop shop with lug nuts flying and parts all over the floor.  In a few hours time we pulled and replaced the brakes, entire suspension, and wheels & tires with the original stuff.  One more push of the 4WD button and the car was sitting back outside with the rest of the "natural disaster" victims. 

It appears we need another vehicle for our adventures, and we may have found one.  More on that later....

It took about two days to get to our vehicles. This is what the "natural disaster" did to ours.  The Senna Wagon took us on a lot of adventures, most of them fishing, hiking, or camping related, and it will be sorely missed.

We experienced what some insurance adjusters may attempt to refer to as a "natural disaster" for which a property owner may not be liable or responsible for...at least when discussing the property that was parked underneath.
